Rihanna joined her former label boss L.A Reid on X Factor USA last night, mentoring the boys group.

Fighting for a place on the lives show are Brennin Hunt, Brian Bradley, Chris Rene, Marcus Canty, Nick Voss, Phillip Lomax, Skyelor Anderson and Tim Cifers.

The high heeled beauty later spoke about her views on the show

Rick Ross falling unconscious

Rapper Rick Ross has been rushed to hospital after falling unconscious on a flight.

The music star was on a flight going from Fort Lauderdale to Memphis today, when the he lost consciousness.

The plane was forced to make an emergency landing as a doctor on the plane performed CPR.

According to a report on TMZ.com, his entourage jumped out of their seats to alert plane personnel - at which point a doctor on board administered CPR on the rapper.

The plane made an emergency landing right away and as Rick was being wheeled off the aircraft, he appeared to show signs of life.

TMZ.com added: 'Emergency workers tell us the call came in at 12:55 PM ET and the caller reported a seizure.

'Ross is currently on a gurney at the airport, and an eyewitness tells us EMT workers are administering CPR.

The Official Mixtape Awards is the first initiative to actively recognize, promote, and celebrate Mixtapes and its contributors. They endeavor to give exposure to the UK Mixtape scene amongst the public. There awards show is the primary outlet for this ambition. The first awards show was in early 2010 and clearly set itself apart from others because they displayed artists that continuously freely express a hunger, rawness, realness and uncompromising lyrics.

So it all went down Sat 12th March 2011 on the West side of London. The WINNERS are... SBTV won Best Online Media. Don Dru Blu won Best New Comer. Krepta & Konan won Best Hip Hop Mixtape. Daniel De Bourg won Best RnB Mixtape. Ghetts won Best Grime Mixtape. Lady Leshurr won Best Female Mixtape Artist. K Koke won Best Male Mixtape Artist & Mixtape Of The Year. The White House was like a basement sound studio in Detroit in the old days, as the likes of John Legend, Seal, Jamie Foxx and others performed in front of President Obama & guests at The White House.

Motown legends Smokey Robinson & Stevie Wonder were also present to join in the celebration.

Obama on Thursday called Motown’s music “the soundtrack of the civil rights era,”

John Legend performed a soulful rendition of "Heard It Through The Grapevine" that left Foxx, who also served as the program’s host, to joke that nowadays the story was more likely to be “heard it through my Twitter.”

In order for music to go forward, we must not forget where it came from.
